The episode begins with Nobita in his room, thinking about how to propose to a girl, but is embarrassed. Doraemon, seeing this, laughs, causing Nobita to leave the room in a hurt voice. He suggests that Nobita tell her directly, causing Nobita to yell at him not to interfere. And when he goes outside, he accidentally sees the same girl and tries to propose to her, stumbling, when he suddenly notices that she has already left. Nobita is upset, but Doraemon takes out a love bow from his pocket and shows him how to use it: he shoots a bird, making it fall in love with him, and when Doraemon pulls out an arrow, the bird loses sympathy and flies away.

When the girl approaches the house, Nobita tries to shoot the girl with the love bow, but misses and shoots a dog, who wakes up and, having fallen in love with him, begins to lick him. Later, Nobita tries to peek through the girl's window, but an ugly and fat girl named Botako climbs out and rudely explains to them that peeking is bad and throws a bucket of water at him and Doraemon, causing them to fall. Leaning against a fence in the hot sun, Nobita asks Doraemon to think of something else, and Doraemon puts on an invisibility cloth. He sneaks into the house unnoticed and overhears Botako and the girl's conversation. Botako explains that Nobita is a talentless person who is addicted to "Noraemon". Angry at the mistake in his name, Doraemon angrily shouts that his name begins with the letter "D", not "N". He then grabs a book, and Botako and the girl begin to chase him. As soon as they run out of the house, Nobita shoots at the girl again, but hits Botako, to which she begins to pester him. Doraemon tries to pull out the arrow, but Botako grabs him by the scruff of the neck and throws him down, then chases after Nobita.

Later, walking down the street, Doraemon and Nobita notice the girl again. Nobita shoots again, but hits an ugly man in the nose. He sneezes, and the arrow hits Doraemon from his nose, and he falls in love with him and compliments him, making the man happy. And when Nobita pulls out the arrow, Doraemon, in response to the question of whether the man is really handsome, says that he is ugly, causing him to fall into hysterics.

Sitting on a swing, Nobita wanted to give up and threw away the love bow, when suddenly it hits the girl and she falls in love with him, making Nobita happy. After the date, Nobita runs home, but then meets Botako, who continues to pursue him. Doraemon, with his hands behind his head, says he can't help it.

In the final scene, Doraemon is sitting on a red balloon in the shape of his face, aiming his love bow to the left.
