Shizuka invites both Dekisugi and Nobita to taste her baked cookies, which both of them agreed. Nobita comes home, and remembers he forgot to pull weeds as he promised for Tamako, but he may be late for Shizuka's cookies, as this will take around two hours. Nobita secretly flies upstairs to leave his bag and is surprised to find Tamako showing up from Doraemon's closet. She forces him to study and do homework. Giggling, she laughs very hard, and she is revealed to be Doraemon in disguise.

Angered, Nobita attempts to leave the room but is confronted by the actual Tamako, who tells him to weed the garden. Nobita then blames Doraemon for causing him trouble and him losing credit for Shizuka. Feeling guilty, Nobita borrows Doraemon's gadget, the Free-Size Toy Camera to be Shizuka and, while she is doing homework in her room, "Shizuka" turns up to delay Dekisugi's arrival. She then meets Gian, who tells her he is gathering everyone for baseball practice this evening. "Shizuka" tells him to not bother Nobita and quickly flies away.

Doraemon uses the gadget again to be Nobita for him to replace Nobita in pulling the weeds while the real Nobita tastes Shizuka's cookies. Suneo overhears that Nobita is going to Shizuka's house to taste cookies as Nobita shouts it in the sky. Nobita arrives at Shizuka's house, but she patiently tells him to wait for Dekisugi first before eating the cookies, and hence forcing Nobita to bring Dekisugi to Shizuka's house earlier than wanted. Meanwhile, "Nobita" realized he was tricked. Incensed, Doraemon discards the Nobita costume, which flies to the streets. Suneo spots it and wears it to substitute Nobita, who is taken away by Tamako to finish pulling the weeds, to go with Dekisugi to taste the cookies.

Back home, Nobita successfully weeds the garden and "Tamako" reveals herself to be Doraemon yet again. Infuriated, Nobita proceeds to chase Doraemon in the streets. He later remembers about the cookies and they go back to Shizuka's house, only to discover that "Nobita" had already eaten his portion of cookies. Seeing Shizuka sending Dekisugi and "Nobita" out, he finds out that he is being replaced.
