Synopsis
Fandom WikiIn order to let Nobita and friends practice the Scavenger Hunt Race, Doraemon takes out the "Time Scavenger Hunt Race Set" and lets Nobita and the others try it. Nobita and Shizuka pair up with their respective badges, as do Gian and Suneo. Each participant is given a Translation Tool before being assigned objects to find.
Nobita and Shizuka go to pre-medieval Baghdad to get an oil lamp, but have difficulty communicating because they forgot to use the Translation Tool beforehand. Nobita needs to use the bathroom, but a local thinks he is hungry instead. Meanwhile, Gian and Suneo go to post-World War II Japan to get a washboard, but they borrow it without permission and are penalized.
Next, Nobita and Shizuka go to ancient Rome to get the laurel crown. Nobita angers a local and runs away to find Shizuka bathing, where she convinces another person to give them the crown. Gian and Suneo come to Vienna in the 18th century to get a squared wig, which they retrieve from Johann Sebastian Bach thanks to Gian's horrible singing.
Nobita and Shizuka get a pirate's flag, a jitte and a wooden statue. Meanwhile, Gian and Suneo get a matoi, some stone coins, and the earliest electric lightbulb. Gian even asks Suneo to wear a Heian era kimono which almost frightens him.
At the final round, Nobita and Shizuka have to retrieve the helmet of an ancient Japanese shogun, while Gian and Suneo are assigned a stone tool from the primitive people. Nobita and Shizuka narrowly escape with the helmet, while Gian and Suneo are chased by a mammoth and give up.
The next day, the Scavenger Race has begun, and all their parents are watching. However, Nobita is still wearing the badge from the Time Scavenger Hunt Race Set, which sends him to prehistoric America to get a dinosaur egg, where he is chased by a dinosaur.
