Partial Evolution Gun

Nobita and Shizuka are doing their drawings in the mountainside behind school. As Nobita completes his drawing, he takes a peak at Shizuka's drawing and compliments her while Shizuka jokingly brushes it off and asks him to show his drawing. Nobita embarrassingly tells her it's not that special and the two decide to have some lunch, where Nobita brought rice cakes while Shizuka brought some sandwiches. As they have their lunch, Nobita spots a bunch of rabbits and calls out to them, causing them to flee. Nobita feels quite dejected that they fled, while Shizuka tells him that he should have stayed silent. Nobita tells her that it was his first time in his life that he was seeing rabbits and Shizuka tells him not to worry as there must be a lot of rabbits in the mountainside. Nobita then decides that they should go and find them, while Shizuka tells him not to disturb them as they are in a very peaceful happy environment and thought of that makes her happy, to which Nobita agrees.

Later that day, Nobita tells what he saw in the mountainside to Gian and Suneo. Suneo tells him that he's lying but Nobita assures them that he really saw rabbits on the mountainside. Convinced, Gian and Suneo decide to go to the mountainside and hunt the rabbits down. Nobita tries to stop them, but gets smacked in the head and they leave. Seeing no other way out, Nobita immediately rushes to Shizuka's house and tells her what Gian and Suneo are about to do, causing her to run immediately to catch up with them while Nobita tails behind. Eventually, they catch up with Gian and Suneo who are holding nets. Gian asks Nobita if he's come back to get another beatdown while Nobita frantically denies this. Shizuka then begs Gian and Suneo not to hurt the rabbits, and Suneo tells her that they're not going to kill them but put them in a cage and provide them food while Gian states that they'll even thank them for taking care of them. Shizuka in turn angrily questions how the rabbits will be happy if they're put in a cage and not given freedom and if they ever thought of that. Gian states that's something that rabbits know and they'll find out once they capture them, and he and Suneo take their leave. Nobita tries to stop them, but they're long past gone. Just when Nobita asks Shizuka what to do, she blames Nobita for causing all of this and runs off crying before Nobita can stop her.

Back in Nobita's room, Nobita begs Doraemon to do something. Doraemon states that while he can stop Gian and Suneo once, that's not going to permanently stop them from hunting the rabbits. Nobita tells him that if they don't do anything, then Shizuka will hate him and begins to cry. After giving some thought, Doraemon comes up with the idea of helping the rabbits save themselves. Nobita asks if he's joking, and Doraemon insists that he's not and brings out a new gadget: the Partial Evolution Gun.
