The Ghost Story Lamp

Nobita wants to participate in a ghost story contest holds at Gian's house that evening, so he asks his mother to tell him a ghost story. His mother initially refuses, but Nobita insists, and she ends up telling a very funny story. Nobita is angry and asks Doraemon for help. Doraemon also can't tell ghost stories, so he brings him the "Horror Story Lamp". After the contest starts, Gian tells "The Chrysanthemum's Plate," Shizuka tells "The Old Woman with the Kitchen Knife," and Suneo tells "No-Face," all three of which are stories everyone has heard before. None of the four are afraid, except for Nobita, who is terrified. The four get bored and demanded that Nobita tell a scary story so they can be frightened. Nobita is still scared and doesn't want to tell one, but under their insistence, he takes out his "Horror Story Lamp" and begins to tell a story. Nobita, having not prepared a story, tells Gian's tale of Kiku. But as he begins, a plate breaks. Everyone is startled. Gian says it is just a mouse and nothing to worry about. He then tells the story of how, after Kiku dies, the candles will go out every night when the wind blows. Everyone is startled again. Gian tells him not to tell the same story. Nobita then begins telling the story of the old hag, when suddenly the door opens and a kitchen knife appears. Everyone is terrified. It turns out that a thief, holding a radish, and thinking no one is home at Gian's house, breaks the plate. After searching for a long time, he finds only a few coins (nine ten-dollar coins). Just as he is about to search the next room, he is scared away by everyone and even witnessed by a policeman nearby. Not knowing the reason, everyone agrees that Nobita's ghost story is the scariest, and Nobita thus wins first place. Back home, Nobita tells Doraemon about winning, casually mentioning that it is a pity he hasn't continued the story; he wishes No-Face has appeared. At that moment, Doraemon notices the "Horror Story Lamp" is still on, and then Nobita's mother, wearing a face mask, suddenly appears, causing the two to mistake her for No-Face and flee in panic.
