While heading to the baseball field, he saw Shizuka at the vacant lot looking for something, so he asked her what is she trying to find. Back at the day of Shizuka's birthday, Gian gave her a T-Shirt, A flower brooch from Dekisugi, while for Nobita gave her a skull accessory (possibly a necklace) as the flashback ended. The present she is looking for is the brooch that Dekisugi gave her as a present. Nobita told her that he will find the brooch by himself and tells her to hurry up not to be late for violin class. So Shizuka waved goodbye at Nobita and tries to think of an idea on how to find it. Nobita came up with a brilliant idea as he goes back to his house. This time, he goes up to his room seeing the window open, to avoid his mother's appearance.

Doraemon got awoken by Nobita and he wants to borrow the Seeking Hand. After explaining what happened earlier, Doraemon let him borrowed the gadget for once and both Nobita and the Seeking Hand goes out to find Shizuka's missing present. While flying, the Seeking Hand lands at Nobita's schoolground meaning they're getting closer, so as they kept on finding it. The Seeking Hand found Shizuka's brooch at the sink, puts it inside of his back pocket and happily hurries back to Shizuka. Bad timing, Gian found Nobita and tells him to practice playing baseball with him, including Suneo, Yasuo and the other two friends. Nobita missed the ball and tries to find it, while Gian rapidly keeps swinging and swinging the ball, causing to hit Nobita's back while his friends tired out from Gian's impossible speed. He calls out the Seeking Hand to find the ball, but the gadget only found some random objects, eventually gets angry however, his foot stepped on the baseball and landed on his butt into the ground and eventually found the baseball all by himself. His eyes quickly changed and decides to check on Shizuka's brooch and when he does, the brooch cuts in half due to the impact on Nobita's butt. Then, he heard Shizuka's voice who is finished with her violin lesson and tells him if he found her brooch. Nobita nervously saying that he is still finding it, while the Seeking Hand keeps saying "It's right here". With Shizuka away, he rushes back to his house to find him, but Doraemon isn't home, so he decides to fix it using the original way without the gadgets. First is to glue the pieces together, but it didn't work and gives up by taking a nap.

Hours later, he heard a phone call, which is Shizuka and she said that if Nobita is home. With that, Nobita decides to give Shizuka with the broken brooch. Suddenly, Doraemon and Nobita both bumped into each other and quickly restore the brooch back to normal using Time Cloth. Doraemon said the Seeking Hand can also find missing persons too. Nobita and Doraemon follows the Seeking Hand to Shizuka, but locations such as: The vacant lot, the bridge she was nowhere to be found. Doraemon asked Nobita where did he exactly found the brooch, which gives him another idea. Nobita told the Seeking Hand, "To my school" and follows him.

Shizuka is at the playground waiting and found Nobita, Doraemon. He gives the brooch back to her and also apologizes for not telling it sooner (meaning that he told Shizuka that he broke the brooch after he found it on the grass while playing with Gian and kept it as a secret), but Shizuka forgave him and kissed him in the cheek, then blushes, so does Doraemon and the Seeking Hand. They waved goodbye to Shizuka and found Nobita's present on her small purse, meaning she also used his present too. Back home, Tamako asked for his math exam. However, the Seeking Hand overheard it and found the exam, then gets mad at him (always). Nobita tries to escape, but stopped by Tamako and Nobita starts crying as the episode ends.
