Episode start while Nobita shows his cat's cradle tricks to Shizuka and two Shizuka's friends. But they all weren't interested and left Nobita alone. At home Nobita showing this trick to his mother. His mother scolded him and told him to study.

In Nobita's room. He was imaginaring "if only there was a world that appreciated his talent for cat's cradle". then Nobita got an idea. Nobita asked Doraemon to take out the "What If phone box" from his pocket, with this phone box Nobita can turn the world into a wild cat's cradle world. Doraemon does not agree with this, but Nobita still does it. After that He go outside to see the world has changed into a cat's cradle world. When he look outside, Nobita sees Gian start playing a cat's cradle until it's Tangled his hands.

In the field, Suneo shows a trick of cat's cradle to girls (Shizuka and Shizuka's friends), Nobita come over and staring at him. This made Suneo feel offended. Then Suneo asking Nobita to do some cat's cradle tricks. Nobita shows the art of Ayatori with his extraordinary hand speed. This make nearby peapole praised Nobita because of his extraordinary talent.

Back to Nobita's house, her mom told him to practice more of playing cat's cradle. because it is a requirement for college admission and job applications. This cat's cradle world is very fun for Nobita. He try to play cat's cradle with Doraemon. But Doraemon doesn't want to play it and he left Nobita's room.

In evening, Nobita's father came home and he want to watch a profesional cat's cradle (Ayatori) wrestling match on television.Nobita's family watched together while Doraemon looked away from the TV. When Nobita finished making the pattern. the girls left Nobita, At the end of the episode, Doraemon secretly plays Ayatori till causing his body get tangled.
