The episode begins with Sensei talking to Nobita about how he needs to study hard until the bell rings for recess, after which Nobita leaves class. As he approaches the gate to go out of the school yard, a ball crashes into him, which a boy picks up and apologizes to Nobita. Later, Nobita sees Shizuka and wants to talk to her, but before he can approach her, he suddenly sees her with Dekisugi. Out of jealousy, Nobita kicks a pebble and hits Gian in the nose, which makes him angry and chases after him with Suneo, but Nobita manages to escape home. Tamako makes him do his homework again before going down to her. Going up to his room, Nobita, sobbing, complains to Doraemon that no one respects him and that he now hates everyone and wants to live completely alone. Doraemon gives him a lonely drink, which stops him from noticing, but suddenly he screams and runs away. Nobita notices a mouse there and hears the angry screams of Tamako, who wants to scold him for the test, but when she approaches the room, she notices an ad for a restaurant and goes back down. Nobita calms down, but suddenly his phone calls, where Gian threatens him with constant harassment and beatings, to which he hangs up and goes for a walk.

On the street, Yasuo, who is approached by Gian and Suneo, is practicing baseball, but accidentally hits the ball into Kaminari's house and runs away. Kaminari sees Gian and Suneo, and thinks that they broke the window, and begins to chase them. Looking at this, Nobita is pleased that he is not being scolded. He walks down the street, but falls into a manhole, and the plumber, not noticing anything, locks it and drives away in a truck. After climbing out of the manhole, Nobita wants to go to Shizuka, but does not find her anywhere. Then, he decides to read a manga in a bookstore, but leaves after a short time.

Doraemon follows Nobita through Time TV to see how he is doing all alone. In the evening, Nobita is bored in the park, and decides to go home to eat. When he gets to the kitchen, he finds no one except a plate of rice on the table, covered with a rag. He decides to go up to Doraemon to ask for help, but he finds no one there either. Exhausted by loneliness, Nobita begins to cry. He cried for so long that he gets tired and falls asleep, and Doraemon covers him with a blanket. Meanwhile, Tamako and Nobisuke return home from the restaurant.

In the morning, Nobita wakes up and, thinking that he is late again, gets dressed in a panic and runs out of the house. Doraemon and his parents were surprised that Nobita needed to get up so early. Running to school, Nobita is glad that he made it, but again he finds no one there. He gets tired of this and Nobita starts crying again, begging Doraemon for help. Doraemon himself tells Nobita that today is Sunday and suggests that he go home.
