Owner Seeking Machine

Doraemon and Nobita take on a shoe-polishing job and receive a monetary reward from Tamako. While heading out afterward, Nobita accidentally bumps into Gian, causing the money to fall from his hand. Gian, who is on his way to buy the same comic book Nobita intends to purchase, claims the money as his own, with Suneo supporting his assertion. Doraemon intervenes, and once Gian and Suneo are outside, he uses the Owner Seeking Machine to determine the rightful owner of the money. The device identifies it to be Nobita, resolving the dispute.

As Doraemon and Nobita walk towards Shizuka’s house, she calls to them from her window, asking for help with a lost canary she has found. Using the Owner Seeking Machine, they determine that the bird, named Cheeko, belongs to Sachiko Kikuchi, who lives nearby. With Cheeko secured in a cage, the group flies using the Takecopter and successfully returns the bird to its owner.

Later, Gian approaches them again, explaining that his dog Muku has been hiding a collection of various items, and his mother has demanded him to return them to their original owners. Using the machine, they manage to return all the items except an old doll. When scanned, the doll is revealed to belong to Nobita’s mother, Tamako.

Since Tamako does not remember the doll, Doraemon and Nobita travel back in time via the Time Machine to investigate how the doll must have been lost. They see young Tamako with the doll as her father prepares to leave for the hospital. At 5:00 p.m., after a nap under the table, Tamako wakes to the sound of rain and a car arriving. Excited, she rushes outside to greet her father, who announces the birth of her baby brother, Tamao. In her haste, she leaves the doll at the garden gate, where a stray dog carries it off.

Doraemon and Nobita conclude that Tamako likely forgot the doll after gaining a new sibling, and that the stray dog hid it until it was rediscovered by Muku.

Back in the present, Tamako appears to recall the doll and gently plays with it. The episode ends with a shot of the doll, which seems to smile subtly.
