Synopsis
Fandom WikiDoraemon walks into the backyard to find Nobita holding a treasure map and a shovel. He gets excited, believing they are about to find treasure. However, the charade is revealed to have been set up by Nobisuke to make getting petty cash more exciting. Unsatisfied with the 500 yen he found, Nobita asks his dad if they have any actual treasure maps. Nobisuke shows them a map from his ancestor Nobizaemon, who had buried excess money 130 years ago. Unfortunately, the actual location of the treasure was torn off the map, so Doraemon and Nobita travel back in time to find it.
After landing in the past, they meet up with Nobisaku Nobi and his father Nobizaemon, who leaves to take care of some errands. Nobita and Doraemon follow him, but when they are noticed, Nobizaemon invites them to stay at his house. Nobita observes that the house does not look like it has anything expensive, but Doraemon urges him not to judge a book by its cover. Eventually, Nobita leaves the house because Nobizaemon will not bury the treasure as long as they are there. Sure enough, the two are able to catch Nobizaemon burying the pot.
The duo head back to the present and start digging at the location where they saw Nobizaemon bury the pot, but end up striking a water pipe. Figuring the treasure had already been dug up, they travel back in time to find Nobisaku digging up the pot. However, much like the "treasure" Nobisuke buried for Nobita earlier that day, it turns out that Nobizaemon's "treasure" was a charade to get Nobisaku excited about getting petty cash, much to the disappointment of Doraemon and Nobita.
