When Nobita and his friends playing baseball in the vacant lot, they accidentally made Kaminari's door broke and ran away. Then, Gian blamed Nobita about it, but Nobita told him the logic. Nobita went home and saw their parents talking about land tax. When he go upstairs, Doraemon suddenly went downstairs, making them can't walk forward and fell downstairs. Nobita got angry and blamed Japan for it has less space. Seeing it, Doraemon pulled out the broad-making pump and explained it. To start, Doraemon used it on a plant.

Nobita wanted to use it to make Japan broad, but to avoid chaos, Doraemon used the mad watch to stop the time. Then, he started to pump the land, suddenly an earthquake occurred, so he stopped the pump. Nobita felt it's like the same size, so Doraemon used a satellite to view Japan and they saw Japan is bigger. So they used the take-copter to see the city, Nobita got amazed. Then, Doraemon used the dream wind chime, so Nobita can inform his parents about land.

Then, Doraemon used the dream speaker to make everyone in the city keep doing daily activities. Tomorrow, Nobita went to school and saw Shizuka. He also met Gian and Suneo. Soon, he realized that they need 2½ hours to arrive to the school, so Nobita ran as fast as possible which ends up being useless. After a while from school, he went home and heard a loud music played, it was Doraemon. Nobita wanted a solution for not walking too long to school, Doraemon responded with take a bus.

Suddenly, his friends invited him to play baseball, hoping to get a homerun. The bad thing is when Nobita can't catch the ball, he have to chase it. He chased it too long until his friends waited him in tired. Doraemon waited his mom, dad, and Nobita and found out they got very tired, even though Doraemon had suggested to take a bus. Then, Nobita started to feel cold, but Doraemon thought he was exaggerating.

Tomorrow, Nobita woke up freezing. When he checked outside, he saw the city turned into a giant ice. He decided to told Doraemon about it, but instead he saw Doraemon got shivered. It turns out that the reason is the size of Japan making the climate changed instantly. Nobita tried to open the door, but got blocked by the ice. So they went out from the upstairs and started to break the ice with a pickaxe, eventually they got tired of it.

So Doraemon pulled out the super gloves. When they saw penguins passed, they immediately break the ice. When they almost reached the pump, Doraemon prevented Nobita from breaking more ice and used the ice carving trowel. Then they pulled the hose to make Japan smaller, then Doraemon used the mad watch to make the time like normal. Finally, they live in the same size of Japan and have the same problem.
