One morning, Nobita doesn't want to go to school. Doraemon asks him why and learns it is because Nobita hasn't done his homework. Nobita says, "If I can have another day, I will finish my homework." Doraemon then takes out the "Sooner-or-Later Chestnut" homework and gives Nobita the instruction to "move the homework due date to the next day." Half-believing, Nobita goes to school, and the teacher indeed announces that the homework will be due the next day. Happy, Nobita vows all the way home to "hurry up and do my homework," but when he gets to his room, he discovers that Doraemon has forgotten to put away the gadget (the gadget itself), and wants to "borrow" it. Doraemon, of course, objected, and Nobita, in front of an angry Doraemon, gives the instruction to "return the gadget one day later," and the gadget becomes Nobita's property that day. Feeling his life has turned into a fairytale, Nobita, in his smugness, steps on a dog's tail. To avoid being bitten, he commands the gadget to "delay the bite by one day," and then, before being hit by the baseball, he commands it to "delay the (baseball hit) by one day." Now, Nobita begins to worry that he will be "bitten by the dog and hit by the baseball at the same time" the next day, so he decides to conduct an experiment. Although Shizuka has lent Nobita her room, it seems there is something going on. After confirming the room has become a locked room, Nobita commands the chestnut to "cancel the delay orders for the dog and the baseball." Just as Nobita proudly believes the ball can't fly in and the dog can't chase him in, a baseball flies into Shizuka's yard, and Shizuka's bed begins to move. When Shizuka's mother comes upstairs with a ball to lecture Shizuka, she slips and falls, sending the ball flying towards Nobita. Suddenly, the dog that has tries to bite Nobita earlier emerges from under the cover of Shizuka's bed (the reason Shizuka is reluctant to lend her room is because she has stolen a dog)! Nobita can't escape his fate of being "hit and bitten." Unconvinced, Nobita decides to provoke Gian, and while Gian is angry, he gives the chestnut the order to "delay for fifteen minutes," and then provokes Gian to follow him to the teacher's house. Nobita thinks that if he, Gian, and the teacher are all in the same room, Gian won't dare to move, but Nobita still can't escape being beaten by Gian. Despite being covered in injuries, Nobita ignores Doraemon's advice and uses the gadget to preview Suneo's Halloween costume, get an advance on his allowance, and watch the next few episodes of the cartoon. Finally, it is bedtime, and Nobita hasn't even done his homework. Doraemon tells him, "If something has already been postponed once, you can't add it again," so Nobita can't ask for "another day off for homework" and has to hand it in tomorrow. Doraemon warns Nobita that he will never help again, and he's have to figure out how to do his homework himself. Unexpectedly, Nobita calmly instructs the chestnut, "Postpone everything that's going to happen tomorrow," thus allowing the homework originally due tomorrow to be postponed for another day. After saying that, Nobita happily goes to bed and goes to sleep, leaving Doraemon angry and helpless.
