Synopsis
Fandom WikiNobita is passing by the open lot when Gian calls out to him and waves at him to come closer. As soon as Nobita comes close to Gian however, Gian beats him up to relieve his built up stress. As Gian leaves, Suneo, Haruo and Yasuo arrives while Nobita cries over getting beaten up by Gian. Haruo suggests that maybe it was faith that he got beaten up, while Yasuo states that he should have known what Gian's true intentions were.
Wishing to prevent future occurences like this, Nobita heads back to his house to borrow a gadget from Doraemon, who lends him Mind Reading Helmet which allows the user to hear every thought within 30 meters. Nobita then puts the helmet on and hears Doraemon's mocking thought about him for being too loose which Doraemon actively tries to deny but fails. Nobita then hears Tamako's thoughts downstairs about what to buy for dinner which she plans to have Nobita do it. Nobita quickly flees the house to avoid the enrand that is going to come. While walking along the street and hearing people's thoughts (including two women who are conversing while secretly mocking each other), Nobita soon comes to hear Gian's thought of beating him again at the next tri-section. Hearing this, Nobita quickly runs away while Gian angrily wonders why Nobita managed to sense him.
Thinking that he's safe now, Nobita meets up with Shizuka who's walking by and asks if she wants to play. Just as Shizuka is about explain something, Nobita immediately deduces that she's going for piano lessons, causing Shizuka to be surprised. He then reveals the helmet to Shizuka and deduces that she doesn't believe him, causing her to angrily call out on him. Unfortunately, Gian shows up from behind and has heard everything that Nobita said. He then mockingly pats Nobita on the head and takes the helmet from him with intention of finding out Nobita's true feelings about him. Nobita quietly advises to Shizuka that they flee while he closes his eyes and they both quietly escape. Gian opens his eyes and angrily calls out to them until he hears someone else walking by and it turns out to be Suneo. Deciding to test the gadget, Gian surprises Suneo and asks what the latter thought of him, which Suneo replies with his usual flattery of Gian being manly and awesome. Unfortunately for Suneo, Gian hears every bits of his true intention of Suneo that he's selfish, mean, greedy, vulgar, violent and the worst of human, causing Gian to get furious and Suneo to cower in fear.
The scene then switches back to Nobita's room, where Doraemon finds out about what happened. Shocked at the turn of events, the two decide to find Gian and recover the gadget before more damage occurs. As they head out of the Nobi residence, they find a beaten up Suneo, who stumbles toward them. Doraemon asks what happened, while Suneo states his disbelief that Gian could deduce what was on his mind, causing Doraemon to realize he was Gian's first victim. Meanwhile, Gian uses the gadget to steal Haruo's new manga, gets revenge on Yasuo for telling the Sensei about his bullying, and target two boys for secretly mocking his songs. The two boys escape to the open Lot and hid behind the pipes. As Gian prepares to corner them, Doraemon and Nobita arrive. Nobita asks Doraemon what to do, while Doraemon states that it was his fault for losing the helmet so he should get it back. Nobita reminds him that Gian has the helmet and can read his thoughts while Doraemon tells him to empty his thoughts. Nobita proceeds to do so and phases out, causing Doraemon to push him towards Gian.
As Nobita descends towards Gian, he starts to think "my mind is empty" as a mantra. However, Gian manages to sense Nobita's thought, turns around just as Nobita is about take the helmet from him, and beats him into unconsciousness. Doraemon takes Nobita to the park bench, where all the other kids are present, and asks if he's okay. Nobita states that it's impossible for him to have a clear mind no matter how hard he tries. As they continue to discuss what to do, Gian is walking by, content with how much dominance he has over everyone. He looks across the park, sees his friends decides to go to them to apologize while taking off the helmet, content with the fun he had with it. Meanwhile, all the kids decide to avoid Gian at all costs and flee when they hear Gian's voice. Gian arrives to the park and sees that everyone has fled, causing him to get furious and put the helmet back on again.
As Suneo continues to run, he bumps into two angry delinquents who corner him. Meanwhile, Gian continues to hunt for his friends and telepathically hears Suneo's cries for help. He runs toward the direction the voice came from, only to find Suneo getting bullied by the delinquents. Gian angrily calls out to the delinquents, causing them to amusingly ask if he's come to save his friend. One of them goes toward Gian and asks to him to speak up. Gian tells him to shut his mouth and immediately lunges at the delinquents, engaging in a fight with them while Suneo flees. While Doraemon and the others are at the open lot, Suneo arrives and tells them what Gian did. Meanwhile, Gian ends up getting completely beaten up by the delinquents, causing the helmet to come loose. Just as the delinquents are about to beat him up further, Doraemon and the gang show up with some sticks and broomsticks to scare the delinquents away by threatening to fight with them. Realizing, that they've been outnumbered, the delinquents decide to flee. Nobita asks Gian if he's okay, while everyone else thanks him and tell him that he's very brave. Gian immediately denounces this, asking them not to lie and that's he's awful. Doraemon tries to deny this, but Gian tells them that they must hate him due to running away from him all this time. Nobita places the mind reading helmet on Gian so that he can hear their true thoughts on him. After realizing that they all indeed like him, Gian is full of joy and tearfully asks them why they ran away from him. Nobita promises that they will not run away from him ever again while Doraemon asks him to give the helmet back. However, Gian refuses to do so and wants some more time to know what everyone truly thinks of him, causing everyone to get scared and start to leave. The episode ends with Gian angrily calling out to them to come back, while everyone flees in terror.
