The Light-or-Heavy Meter

Mom has been getting a little angsty lately. She doesn't let Nobita read comics and orders Dad to do the housework. In order to understand what Mom has been bothered with, Doraemon enlists the help of Dorami to check in on Mom.

Dorami deduces that Mom is trying to lose weight and has been skipping meals, but is in a bad mood because she is hungry. She brings out a gadget, the Light-or-Heavy Meter, that can modify the weight of a person or object. To cover up the use of the gadget, Doraemon gets Mom to eat a piece of chocolate which, he claims, can help Mom lose weight. As Mom consumes the chocolate, Doraemon simultaneously reduces Mom's weight by 1kg.

The plan to help Mom lose weight succeeds and Mom can now have meals with a piece of mind. As Doraemon and Nobita were about to return to comic reading, Gian and Suneo call Nobita over for a game of baseball, so Doraemon tags along with Nobita to help him from the sides. Following a smooth baseball match where Nobita avoids getting striked out, Nobita has Doraemon lend him the gadget to play with Shizuka.

In a bid to lose more weight than Suneo's mother, Mom quickly rushes back and consumes all the chocolate in the tube, but nothing happens. She decides to throw all the comics away. Upon learning this, Doraemon and Nobita rush back to stop Mom from taking all the comics to the junk man. They make the comics heavier, but also accidentally made Mom heavier and she ended up sinking into the walkway, so Doraemon and Nobita have to seek help from Dorami again.

Dorami replaces Mom's glasses with a pair of Convex Glasses, which makes others look bigger in appearance while the users themselves look largely the same. Believing that Suneo's mother has put on weight, Mom quips that she is slim enough after all.
