Synopsis
Fandom WikiSuneo, having read a book on mystery, brags about it and asks Nobita to be his experiment subject to decipher the origins of the story. After successfully deciphering it, he proudly declares he'll start a detective agency. Frustrated, Nobita returns home and asks Doraemon to borrow the Sherlock Holmes set. Doraemon claims the tool is broken and instead pulls out the "Associated Inference Magnifier". Doraemon uses a dorayaki to test it, asking Nobita to hide it. The deduction from the tool is as follows: Inference: Dorayaki is a round object → the moon → its shape resembles the number 0 → zero → Nobita often gets zeros → Nobita concludes: Dorayaki is in Nobita's stomach. Upon learning that Nobita has eaten the dorayaki, Doraemon becomes furious. Nobita follows suit and puts up a sign for the detective agency. Shizuka walks by and asks Suneo to help her find her lost wallet. Nobita wants to help, but Shizuka says he's unreliable. Nobita follows Suneo to his house and uses gadget: Deduction: Shizuka loves baths → bath → The Japanese word for bath is similar to "bus" → bus stop. Conclusion: The wallet was lost at the bus stop, but Suneo thinks one step further than the gadget. Since Shizuka lost her wallet in a busy street, someone must have picked it up and taken it to the police station. Without waiting for the gadget to finish, the two of them head to the police station and, as expected, they find the wallet. Meanwhile, Nobita passes by Gian's house, and Gian's mother tells him that Gian is evading her. Nobita uses gadget to try to locate Gian: Deduction: Gian is fat → Pig is fat → Pig... Gian is nearby and, enraged by the connection, immediately reveals himself and is immediately apprehended by his mother. Gian vows revenge on Nobita. Seeing his situation faltering, Nobita returns home dejected and asks Doraemon for help. But because he's still angry, Nobita buys two copper gongs to burn as atonement, and Doraemon immediately forgives Nobita. Suneo is monitored by "Satellite Television". He's handling a case involving a wealthy man whose gold coins have been lost in a secret room. Unexpectedly, Suneo frames Doraemon, claiming he has "Anywhere Door" that allows him to enter and exit the room at will. Doraemon and Nobita immediately rush in using the "Anywhere Door" and use his gadget in front of everyone: Deduction: Gold coins are money → Suneo is rich → Suneo → Suneo has short legs → Doraemon has shorter legs than Suneo → Doraemon Conclusion: Doraemon is a thief. The gadget accidentally comes to the same conclusion as Suneo's false accusation, and Doraemon vows to recover the gold coins to prove his innocence. The two use the "Fishing Pond for Things You Dropped" and "Fishing Rod", but the gadgets also said they can't find them, implying that the gold coins are not of this world. Suneo urges them outside, so Nobita and Doraemon use the "Time Machine" to travel back to the previous night. However, they wait all night but the thief doesn't show up, and they almost get discovered by the owner due to an argument. Doraemon thinks he should take the gold coin back, but when they step out of the "Time Machine", they suddenly realize that this was how the gold coin disappeared, and that is why the magnifying glass accuses Doraemon of being a thief. On the way back to the rich man's house, the two rack their brains for an explanation.
